Statement of Support
We believe building a new downtown stadium as proposed by the CWS Oversight Committee is the best option for the City of Omaha to keep the CWS in Omaha for the long-term. As such, the following people support that recommendation.

I can’t state anything more thats already ready been said. The CWS is vital to Omaha and we should do whatever it takes to keep it here…

Been a loyal supporter of the series since the early 80’s and am absolutely in favor of the new stadium proposal endorsed by the CWS Committe and the Mayor. The minority is very vocal but the majority knows that this is best for the long-term for both Omaha and the CWS.

I am so thankful for finding this website. I have endured many debates with naysayers recently and can not understand why people don’t understand the significance of the CWS in Omaha. My family has had season tickets for as long as my memory goes back! I grew up camping down at Rosenblatt every year, and never liked to miss a game! I have so many fond memories at the CWS, that I can’t imagine raising my kids some day and not being able to take them to the games that made me fall in love with baseball! Even though I truly am thankful for Rosenblatt, I can see farther into the future than most, and I want a stadium that will compete for many years to come with some of the best stadiums in the country!! I want to sleep easy at night knowing that I will be able to go to the CWS again “next year!”
So Thank-you from the bottom of my heart for helping spread the other side! While I love Rosenblatt, it’s time to build into the next generation!
Sincerely,
Shannon Scott
True Baseball FAN!!

Build it!!

Being a Yankees fan, I have bought tickets to several New York games in September to celebrate the closing of the most legendary stadium in baseball history. It will be sad to see Yankee Stadium retired, but it will be exciting and awesome to start a new chapter of Yankees Baseball.
Omaha has an opportunity to do the same with a new downtown ballpark. Nobody will forget Rosenblatt, but nobody can deny that a new downtown stadium with all the amenities will spark a new era of excitement and championship baseball history.
There’s not one reason not to build this stadium!

Press conference today @ 11. Mayor and MECA have reached an agreement!
April 1st, 2008 at 10:38 am
Great conversation here… glad to see all the support for the new stadium.
April 1st, 2008 at 11:44 am
I support the new downtown stadium. Hang in there Mayor Mike!!
April 1st, 2008 at 12:32 pm
This is project is not only needed for ensuring that the College World Series remains in Omaha for years to come, but also as a key component in realizing the redevelopment of the North Downtown Area.
April 1st, 2008 at 1:05 pm
This is great, glad I found you!
Can’t wait to here the words….
Play ball!

Great news today that MECA and the Mayor has reached an agreement!!! Thank you for staying with it and fighting this fight for the good of the city Mayor Fahey!
April 1st, 2008 at 3:47 pm
I feel we must keep the CWS, and the only way to do it is to build a downtown stadium. It would cost us less in the long road, especially with the private money that seems to be available. The Rosenblatt site could be put to better uses including Zoo expansion.
April 1st, 2008 at 4:22 pm
We must build this downtown staduim,we also must let the kolks who want to recall our great Mayor that a recall election should be paid for by anyone who signs that petition.I only hope our city will not have this election. Also the save rosenblatt group should be able to buy a brick or old seat from the blatt, then they will have Rosenblatt right in there own home.Build it they will come.
April 1st, 2008 at 4:55 pm
The new downtown stadium and keeping the CWS are important to our city. Those who oppose should look beyond their self interests and give their support.
April 1st, 2008 at 10:03 pm
Time to get on board the Downtown Stadium Wagon as it continues to pick up momentum! Kudos to Mayor Fahey with support from NCAA, CWS Inc., MECA, Henry Doorly, the Omaha Chamber of Commerce, Creighton University, Omaha Royals, City Council (except 1), and the MAJORITY of Greater Omaha the Downtown Ballpark will be a reality.
**Please continue to make friends, family and associates aware of this site so Mayor Fahey can present it to the NCAA later this month.
April 2nd, 2008 at 9:14 am
Let’s build this new stadium as proposed!!!
April 2nd, 2008 at 9:40 am
This will be very good for the entire region but it will help put Omaha back on top as a leading, growing and modern leading city in the Midwest! A terrific improvement to Omaha’s image!
April 2nd, 2008 at 10:25 am
I support the plan for the downtown stadium.
April 2nd, 2008 at 10:36 am
Lets build the new stadium. If you don’t want to ( Save Rosenblatt people) Move to another city that has no plans to ever make there city or town better. Stop trying to hold one back that is trying to make their city better not only for the citizens but for people coming from all over
April 2nd, 2008 at 10:38 am
I fully support the development of North Downtown Omaha and the Construction of a new baseball stadium.
A special thanks to the mayor for sticking up for what he knows is right and not backing down to the mostly narrow minded naysayers.
April 2nd, 2008 at 10:41 am
I give 100% support for the new downtown stadium.
April 2nd, 2008 at 11:57 am
I give the new downtown proposed stadium my support. I am part of the younger generation in Omaha and we need to be more progressive in this city. Mayor Mike Fahey has done his best in doing that. Lets stop the negatively and looking at the past and push forward with the furture.
April 2nd, 2008 at 12:22 pm
Build it and build it as you did the Qwest……..Recent NCAA’s (Swimming, Basketball)expressed great enthusiasm for the Qwest Center and its amenities. This new stadium will be in the same company nationally if you let Mayor Mike do his thing..
April 2nd, 2008 at 2:49 pm
Great Job!!
I want to be able to take my kids to the CWS and don’t want to lose it to Indy!!
Thanks for everything!!
April 2nd, 2008 at 2:58 pm
I support it all the way…appreciate your hard work to make this happen.
April 2nd, 2008 at 3:26 pm
I support a new downtown stadium. What a GREAT opportunity for our city! Thanks to Mayor Fahey for his vision.
April 2nd, 2008 at 3:29 pm
The people that don’t want the new stadium wins the de dee dee award. Come on people get with the program lets build this stadium to make Omaha stand out. Omaha needs this stadium just like we need Qwest center. I give my 100% backing on building this stadium.
April 2nd, 2008 at 3:31 pm
Lets build the stadium. We have the ball rolling just a little for Omaha to grow into a major city, lets all give it a big push by building a new stadium downtown. LETS GO OMAHA
April 3rd, 2008 at 10:33 am
Let’s move on with life. Build the new stadium. The blatt is an embarrassing, out dated facility. A simple face lift will not do. Let’s build a new stadium where the people are, where the hotels are, around the bulk of Omaha attractions (Sorry HD Zoo, We do love you. Maybe this can be good for you too.) Build something we can be proud of, something I want to take my kids to, something we want to see on national TV. OK, I understand I will need to pay for it, but someone has to. Jobber’s Canyon now Con Agra Campus or UP Rail yards to Qwest Center and condos have made a huge improvement to this community.
It is not worth the money to try to renovate and keep it. Let’s look at all the positives that will come out of it, versus it will challenge the income of 100 homes who let people park on their lawns for a week. To people that say “Save the blatt” I say Doze the blatt!
By the way, I am not interested in your conflicting opinion, so don’t bother to post a confilcting view. One last thing, leave the Mayor alone. He is doing a fine job.
April 3rd, 2008 at 10:47 am
Let’s all get together and build an Omaha for the future. If the naysayers win, Omaha loses its forward progress. We wouldn’t have the Quest, the Holland Center, or the Mall downtown if some forward looking people hadn’t acted. Let’s keep the College World Series in Omaha and build a great downtown and while doing it give the Zoo room to expand!
April 3rd, 2008 at 2:29 pm
I believe that Omaha should continue to progress into the near future and beyond. Part of that progress should be continued development of the downtown area and the riverfront. The proposed stadium would help to make these areas not only more desirable for residences but also as destinations for enjoyment by citizens of Omaha and visitors alike.
April 3rd, 2008 at 5:13 pm
I support Mayor Fahey and what he is trying to do for Omaha’s future and image.
The thought of a new staduim is exciting and I feel sorry for all the people who cannot see how this will better the image of Omaha and what a boost to the economy it will bring.
I think it’s time the people of Omaha get behind their mayor and show their support.
For all the CWS ticket holders that are against the new stadium, please let us know so we can apply for your season tickets, we would LOVE TO HAVE THEM!!
April 4th, 2008 at 4:16 am
I love the idea of the park down by the river. I just hope they don’t make me move my van. I havent started it in years.
April 4th, 2008 at 9:57 am
We support the new downtown Stadium and CWS long term contract!
April 4th, 2008 at 11:37 am
BUILD IT and tell everyone else to move out of Omaha and to the hills if they don’t like it.
April 4th, 2008 at 12:09 pm
I am in full support of the new stadium. It will bring many future memories of the College World Series and build from the old ones from Rosenblatt. Thank you, Mayor Fahey for being futuristic.

Some people have no concept of change. Change is good and so is the new stadium if Omaha wants to keep the CSW. Don’t bury your head in the sand people!
April 5th, 2008 at 10:51 am
Thanks for this site. I am having a friend post for me since I don’t own a computer and can’t access this at work.
I am 100% for building a new stadium. To keep putting money into a 60 year old structure does not make sense. Building downtown would be an awesome asset to a revitalizing area.
Let the land go to our nationally recognized zoo and hope that we can attract the Pandas there.
April 5th, 2008 at 3:19 pm
After seeing the new video of the stadium, I am on board more than ever!
April 6th, 2008 at 12:37 pm
I can’t wait until this new stadium gets approved. Omaha needs this new stadium.
April 7th, 2008 at 5:15 pm
I support Mayor Fahey, its time the support Rosenblatt folks get on the bus and leave our great city.We must support our city officials. So far Meca is approved of the new staduim,we have many more supporters then folks that don’t want to inprove our city.
but they are ready to have a recall election, for what.we know we will keep our Mayor in office. It will just cost 250 thousand to have this election. What a joke.I want to go to the royals games and the college world series games downtown.bulid it they will come.
April 8th, 2008 at 8:42 pm
I’m pleased to sign this petition and grateful to those responsible for this action.
April 9th, 2008 at 11:18 am
I am more than happy to sign this petition and look forward to the new stadium downtown.
April 9th, 2008 at 2:59 pm
A new stadium is needed
April 9th, 2008 at 3:06 pm
This would be a great economic feat in terms of economic development for the downtown area. If you build it, the money will come!
April 9th, 2008 at 3:29 pm
We need it!
April 9th, 2008 at 3:51 pm
It will be a great attraction for Omaha!
April 9th, 2008 at 4:05 pm
I support the new downtown stadium
April 9th, 2008 at 4:07 pm
a commercial baseball stadium belongs in a commercial district, not a residential district.
April 9th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
I am 100%+ in favor of the stadium and support your efforts.
I was at the Westside meeting and it was embarassing the comments and
behaivor of those opposed.
One remark made at that meeting was about the bidding process and
indicated that Kiewit should notget the business because Ken Stinson is on
the Stadium board. Kiewit and all the other construction companies and
craftsmen from this city better get those contracts. Keep the $ in Omaha
and I bet Mr. Stinson will be a big donor to the cause.
THANKS FOR YOUR EFFORTS.
